Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Computers and Information - Department of Information Systems Summary: Obviously, in recent times, online social networks have gained a great popularity and reputation, and are now among the most frequently and commonly visited websites on the internet. Nowadays, users on such online networks mainly use them as key resources of information. With this great popularity and vital effect and due to the open nature of social networks for users to state anything about any resource online, the security and trust issues began to appear into the scene of online social networks. Hence, trust in social networks is a key factor to keep the trustworthiness and consequently the success of the online social networks. Absence of trust or credibility in online social networks may lead to disseminating false, fabricated, or untrusted information and also rumors over them. Moreover, users may interact on such untrustworthy platforms with a high level of uncertainty and incredibility. Therefore, trust management over online social networks issue has to be addressed and focused on from the scientific research and especially from the computer science domain's perspective. Although, a lot of research efforts have been directed to address the trust management issue in online social networks, trust as a multifaceted and complex issue can be still investigated to reveal many new different scientific research insights to solve the trust management issue in social networksn details in the performance evaluation chapter
