In this study, the surface roughness and wetabbility of three different types of PEEK were measured before and after nitrogen plasma surface treatment. 7 Samples of unfilled PEEK, 7 samples of ceramic filled PEEK and 7 samples of carbon filled PEEK were prepared in this study each 7 samples represent a group .The samples were cylendrical in shape and each sample had dimensions of 10 mm diameter and 2.5 mm height The samples were cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaning device to remove any debris dust. The roughness was measured using a contact profilometer with a diamond tip which moved on the surface of the samples and took 4 different readings at different places on the surface of the sample and the 4 readings were averaged to a single roughness mean value. The contact angle readings were obtained using the sessile drop technique in which droplets of distilled water(0.1mL) were placed onto sample surface. The volume of each solution was controlled by means of a micro-pipette. Images of the water droplet were captured immediately and after 5 minutes after deposition with a microvideo system and the angle was measured using computer software
