The present study was designed to compare two types of fabrication methods for orbital prosthesis, the conventional technique versus the rapid prototyping technique for patients with orbital defect regarding; Patient satisfaction, dimensional accuracy and construction chair side time. This study was conducted on eight patients with orbital defects selected from the Head and Neck Surgery unit, National Cancer Institute, Cairo University. The patients were divided into two equal groups: (Group A) received a conventionally fabricated orbital prosthesis followed by an orbital prosthesis made by aid of rapid prototyping technology. While patients of (Group B) received an orbital prosthesis fabricated by aid of rapid prototyping technology followed by an orbital prosthesis made by the conventional technique. Patient satisfaction for each type of the prostheses was evaluated using a prepared questionnaire with a Likert scale after one week and again after three months from prosthesis delivery. Dimensional accuracy assessment was carried out by measuring linear distances between fixed anthropometric landmarks using Adobe Photoshop software and comparing it with the normal un-affected side .Also construction chair side time was calculated using stop watch at the major anatomy sculpturing visit
