Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral Biology Summary: The aim of this study is to localize and delineate the role of the signaling molecules (EGF and TGF-Ý) before, during and after eruption. We evaluate the expression of EGF and TGF-Ý in the odontogenic and periodontal tissues of lower incisor of albino rats and also along its pathway of eruption.A correlation was carried out between the expression of each biomarker at a particular site and its possible role in matrix synthesis, maturation and growth or in providing a motive force for eruption .The correlation will be based upon the biological characteristics of the growth factors. PICOT Format P: Albino Rats I: EGF, TGF-Ý C: Comparison between the levels of these two growth factors (four groups each) at different stages of eruption. O:Identification of the role of EGF and TGF-Ý in the eruption mechanism (table 1). T: At birth, (5, 10 and 15 days postpartum)
