Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Department of Microbiology Summary: This study was applied on 284 samples of swabs, fecal samples and organswhich were collected from living & slaughtered dromederies camels in north western coastal area of Egypt. Bacteriological and biochemical tests were applied on them, 26 samples were positive to Salmonella . The results of VITEK classified them into 22 field isolates ofsalmonella spp. and 4 of them wereSalmonella enteric sspdiarizonae. The 26 isolatesshowed positive band of invA gene.12 of them were positive to spvA gene of S.Entritidis and 10 of them positive to fliC gene of S.Typhimurium. All26isolates were resistant to spiramycin (100%) & sensitive to ciprofloxacin, gentamicin, and amoxicillin/clavulinic. It is obvious not all resistant isolates carry the resistant gene of tetracycline tet A and Ý-lactam blaTEM&blaSHV& vice versa.SDS explained that the mol.weight of bands wereclosely related with variable heterogenous banding profile. The analysis of 16s rRNA gene of 11 isolates showed 100% similarity between 3 isolates of the same origin, S. Entritidis and with one samples of S.Typhimurium while the percentage of divergencewas 0.2-0.4%
