Hypocalcaemia may be delayed up to 48 hourse after thyroidectomy. Perioperative parathyroid hormone measurement has been validated in indentification of patients at risk of postoperative hypocalcaemia. Parathyroid hormone use as a predictor of hypocalcaemia allows for early and safe patients discharge after thyroidectomy.Therefor, improve cost effectiveness of the patients
