Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Pathology Summary: Background: Invasive ductal carcinoma is aheterogeneous disease consists of several histological subtypes that can be separated by morphology and immunohistochemistry withdistinctive clinicalpresentations, behaviors and responses to therapy and need new markers especially for hormone receptors and Her-2 negative cases. The aim of thisstudy: To examine the expression of CK-14 in invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) to evaluate association with clinicopathologic parameters and to clarify its relation as a possible diagnostic and prognostic marker.Material and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of 40 cases of invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) and evaluated for age, grade, tumor size, stage, nodal status, lymphovascular invasion and histologic morphology, previously examined immunohistochemistry forestrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, Her-2 and Ki-67. The monoclonal antibody CK-14. Clone EPR1612 (Novus Biologicals USA)expressionwas examined on all studied cases. Results: Cytokeratin -14 was expressed in (52.5%) of cases. It was significantly associated with hormone receptors and Her-2 negativity
