Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anatomy Summary: The circle of Willis is a large arterial anastomotic ring present at the basal cistern of the brain, uniting the internal carotid and the vertebra-basilar systems to supply the brain. In the current work we used Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography Angiography to study the Circle of Willis as regards its component vessels, their average diameters as well as the anatomical variations of these vessels.The study revealed that the Circle of Willis shows great variability as regards its morphological configuration among different individuals
