Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Institute of African Research and Studies - Department of Natural Resources Summary: To evaluate the heavy metal of soil, plants and water in Alrahawy drain sewage irrigation area, the area used wastewater for irrigation for at least 30 years. 30 soil samples were taken at different depths (0-30 and 30-60 cm) and 15 plant and water samples each were collected at 15 different sites. Data obtained showed that the environmental impact of heavy metals on soil irrigated with sewage water was assessed from using Bioaccumulation factor (BF), the single-factor model and the Neremo index model which were employed in different the study soil sites and plant cultivated, such as spatial distribution, pollution index and degree of pollution. Data calculated using the equation of (BF) as well as results obtained with was ascending particularly order as follows: Cr< Co < Cd < Pb < Ni < Cu. The results of Nemero model exhibited that the concentration of heavy metals in 15 locations were in locations (1, 9 and 10) which indicated "slight pollution", locations No. (2, 4, 5 and15) became "heavy pollution", while locations No. (3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 14) were assigned "moderate pollution". Irrigation by wastewater had resulted in increasing the heavy metal concentrations in soil and plants in study area
