  • توظيف أنابيب كربون نانوية متعددة الجدران للعلاج الكيميائي [Added title page title]
Subject(s): Available additional physical forms:
  • Issued also as CD
Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Chemical Engineering Summary: Cancer is second category of diseases leading to death worldwide.Although chemotherapy is the broadest treatment modality that is used for dealing with different stages of malignancy, it has many limitations which attracted many researchers to study them and provide solutions. Nano-medicine is one of the research disciplines that offer opportunities to overcome chemotherapy cons. In This work Multi-walled carbon nanotube is used as a tailored carrier with covalent functionalization for folic acid attachment and non-covalent functionalization for drug (Vorinostat) attachment. This work studied covalent functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes to attach folic acid as a targeting Ligand followed by the utilization of MWCNT walls hydrophobic nature to attach Vorinostat.Different characterization techniques were used to detect experimental changes. In-vitro cell viability testing was performed to trace the impact of Vorinostat/ folic acid conjugated multi-walled carbon nanotubes on MCF-7 cell line. Trending results was observed showing increased cytotoxicity of FA-MWCNT, SAHA/FA-MWCNT and SAHA respectively
