Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Archaeology - Department of Conservation Summary: This study aimed at testing laser and ultrasound scaler for cleaning corrosion off the metal decoration.Experimental case studies that represented different metals/alloys were investigated.Nano-second Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm and 532 nm was used with varying energy, duration, and spot size.Concerning the scaler/cavitron, A piezo-electric scaler was used.Testing the different power settings and parameters was accomplished.Qualitative and Quantitative estimation methods were used to determine the cleaning efficiency
