Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Operative dentistry Summary: This study has been conducted to study the effect of solvent free and solvent based adhesives on microtensile bond strength of resin composite on deep and superfacial dentin. The nanoleakage hybridization micromorphological changes at adhesive-dentin interface were also studied. A total of 120 recently extracted caries-free human molars were selected. The teeth were divided into two main groups according to the dentin depth, superfacial or deep. Then, each group was subdivided into three subgroups according to the adhesive systems used namely Nano-Bond® two-step self-etch adhesive, Nano-Bond® two-step self-etch adhesive + Nano-Bond® dual cure activator and Bond-1 SF Solvent free one-step SE adhesive. The subgroups were further subdivided into two classes according to aging period 48 hours and 3 months. The teeth were embedded into acrylic resin blocks. Enamel was grinded to expose dentin and determine superfacial and deep dentine. A flat occlusal dentin was exposed to receive the adhesive systems according to the manufacturer{u2019}s instructions. Resin Composite was applied on bounded dentin substrate using teflon rings. After the aging periods, the teeth were sectioned into sticks using a precise caliper
