Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: Elevated temperature has high impact on concrete in its different shapes. This includes the effect on the mechanical properties and the physical change under different temperatures. The main aim of this research is to study the behavior of concrete containing different portions of nano-silica when exposed to different degrees of elevated temperatures and compare it with control high strength concrete without any admixtures. The results showed higher compressive strength for concrete containing nano-silica than that of control under all different degrees of temperatures. The results showed also that the presence of nano-silica in concrete catalyzes the chemical reaction under mild increase in temperature (200{u00B0}C and 400{u00B0}C), this leads to higher compression strength at (200{u00B0}C and 400{u00B0}C) than that at 30{u00B0}C. The presence of polypropylene fibers in concrete, which melts down under high temperatures, gives higher compressive strength than concrete that does not contain polypropylene fibers
