Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Pathology
This work aimed at assessing the expression of Androgen receptor in endometrial carcinoma. This work included 40 paraffin-embedded endometrial tissue samples diagnosed as: 32 endometrioid endometrial carcinoma (Type I) and 8 serous endometrial carcinoma (Type II) were collected. All endometrial tissue samples of the endometrial carcinoma were obtained through hysterectomy. The specimens were collected from archive of surgical pathology files of Pathology Department, Faculty of medicine, Cairo University, Kasr El-Aini Hospital, El-Galaa Teaching Hospital and other private laboratories during the period from 2010 till December, 2017. AR immunoreactivity was noted in 50% of the endometrial carcinoma cases, Androgen immunoreactivity was noted in 62.5% of Type I (EECA) (20 cases), while 37.5% of EECA (12 cases) and all cases of serous carcinoma show negative expression of AR
