Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics Summary: The purpose of this In-vitro study is to compare the fracture resistance of endodontically treated teeth that were prosthetically restored with two fiber post design with two type of cement. A total of 36 non-carious, human maxillary upper central incisors of an average similarity in size, shape and root morphology and free from cracks, extracted from diabetic patients were used in this study. To facilitated standardization of tooth position during crown preparation and during the test procedure the teeth were mounted in epoxy resin block. The teeth were position in the center of the block, parallel to its long axis and perpendicular to its base. A special designed centralizing device was constructed to allow the accurate placement of the teeth during fabrication of the epoxy resin block. All teeth were subjected to endodontic treatment then were sectioned perpendicular to the long axis 2mm coronal to the proximal CEJ.The teeth were randomly divided into 2 groups according to the post surface design: Group A: Macro-Lock Illusion X-RO fiber post (18 samples) Group B: Rely-X smooth fiber post (18 samples) Each group of teeth will be further subdivided according to adhesive strategies in to 2 subgroups (n=9) as follows: Subgroup I: G-CEM cement (self-adhesive resin cement) Subgroup II: Rely X Ultimate Clicker cement (Total-etch adhesive resin cement) After post cementation, the composite core construction of all teeth was made using Nano hybrid composite. Then all teeth were prepared to receive full metal crowns. Axial walls were prepared with a deep chamfer margin 1 mm wide with rounded line angles located in the sound tooth leaving a 2 mm ferrule, with 10{u00B0} convergence angles. The height of prepared teeth was 6 mm from the finish line to the incisal edge (2mm ferrule, 4mm core).Full metal crown was constructed
