Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral (Radiology and Diagnosis) Summary: The HRFs initiated in anterior teeth are one of the most challenging situations faced in the emergency dental clinic and being of low incidence in comparisons to other forms of traumatic injuries, therefore, requires professional staff as well as good technical preparation. Correct diagnosis and localization of root fracture position are of utmost importance in dental practice and evidence-based multidisciplinary approach is highly appreciated for the construction of well-structured treatment strategies with concomitant better prognosis of the traumatized teeth. Traditionally, the radiographic examination of HRF relied on IOR because of its low cost, convenience, and high resolution. However, it depends mainly on the relative angulation of the incident x-ray beam to the fracture plane and their inherent 2D limitations may result in a total concealment of the fracture line, in addition to, a significant risk of misdiagnosing the location and course of the root fracture
