The main objective of this research is the development of an innovative database system for a highway laboratory that facilities the relationship extraction of engineering characteristics for subgrade and aggregates. A database was built for the Highway and Airport Research Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, using all laboratory operations from year 2015 to year 2016. A data quality process was applied for checking the accuracy and consistency of the data. Data analysis process was then carried out for analyzing the data and finding relationshipsamong the different engineering parameters that are considered important in the highway construction industry. The relationship extraction included several models to predict some of the essential engineering properties used in the highway pavement design
