Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Pedodontics Summary: Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of dental anomalies in a group of Egyptian children with oral clefts. Study design: This Study was designed as an observational (cross-sectional study).A group of 43 Egyptian children with oral clefts were recruited in the study. The detection ofdental anomalies and their frequency were assessed using clinical examination and CBCT radiographic investigation. Results: Among the total study sample hypodontia was detected in 22 patients (55.2%), 7 Patients (16.3%) had supernumerary teeth, 3 patients (7%) had macrodontia, 3 patients (7%) had microdontia, ectopic eruption was detected in 33 patients (76.7%), rotation was detected in 28 patients (65.1%), dilaceration was detected in 4 patients (9.3%), other types of dental anomalies were encountered in 5 patients (11.6%) While no cases presented with transposition. Conclusion: Patients affected by an oral cleft are subjected for higher frequency of dental anomalies occurrence,where only one patient was presented with no dental anomalies in the current study.The most prevalent dental anomaly was Ectopic eruption followed by rotation and no patients in the current study showed transposition
