Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Periodontology Summary: There are different surgical approaches for treatment of chronic periodontitis patients with deep periodontal pockets without osseous resection and with minimal soft tissue resection including flap curettage, OFD and MWF. It was proven that MWF is a predictable approach for treatment. The adjunct application of HA enhances the probability to obtain good healing of the periodontal tissue following surgery. Moreover, HA helps to decrease the post-surgical complications such as: pain, edema and bleeding. The aim of this RCT was to assess the effect of topical HA on postoperative pain after MWF versus MWF alone in patients with chronic periodontitis
