Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences - Department of Laser Applications Environmental Merrology Photochemistry and Photobiology Agriculture Summary: Herein, we report on the victorious synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) on TiO₂ nano-tubes (NTs) using a layer-by-layer (LbL) approach for the first time. Highly crystalline and homogenous thin {uFB01}lms of MOFswere grown and the {uFB01}lms characterized using XRD, SEM, FT-IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy. Moreover, the utilization of the MOF {uFB01}lms as sensitizerswasprobed in bespoke Graetzel type liquid junction solar cells. The HOMO-LUMO level of the frameworks is found to be suitable to allow the use of the frameworks as a sensitizer for TiO₂.The constructed cell performance revealed anIscof 1.16 mA cm-2, Vocof 0.63 V, FF of 0.33, and E{uFB00}of 0.42%. Further, pump-probe transient laser spectroscopy was performed to investigate the energy and charge transfer dynamics of the MOF/TiO₂ NTs interface
