Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Nursing - Department of Critical Care and Emergency Sciences Nursing Summary: Stem cell transplantation is a life saving procedure for a number of malignant and non-malignant life threatening diseases The knowledge and practice should continue to grow as stem cell research moves ahead and its applications expand.Thereforetheaim of this study was to assess nurses' knowledge and practices regarding to Care of Patients Undergoing Stem Cell Transplantation in Hematologic Malignancies at EL-Sheikh Zaied specialized Hospital and Nasser institute. Research questions: Q1: What is the nurses' knowledge about nursing care of patient undergoing stem cell transplantation?,Q2: How do the nurses manage patients undergoing stem cell transplantation?. Methods: A convenient sample of (30) nurses working in stem cell transplantation unit as bed side nurses working in Nasser institute &El sheikh Zayed hospital .Tools: two tools were formulated & tested to collect data pertinent to the study : Tool 1: Knowledge assessment questioner sheet for nurses working with stem cell transplant patients, tool 2 : Observational checklists for nurses working with stem cell transplant patients. Structured interview and direct observation were utilized to collect data pertinent to this study
