This study was conducted on 150 Egyptian asthmatic children to investigate the problem of treatment non adherence and its effect on asthma control. It reached the following: About 62.67% of cases were non-adherent to prescribed asthma treatment compared to 37.33% who were adherent. Adherent group had significantly higher level of paternal education, maternal occupation and social class compared to non-adherent group. Asthma control was significantly higher in adherent group compared to non-adherent group. There was a significant direct correlation between parental education, occupation, social class, asthma control and adherence to treatment.Maternal education levels were significant factors predicting treatment adherence
