Dissertation note: Thesis (M.A.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Arts - Department of Spanish Summary: The objective of this study is to analyze types and aspects of monstrosity in Mujica Láinz{u2019}s narrative works and the writer{u2019}s style in recreating different monsters and characters from legends, myths and imaginary and real zoologies. We also aim to analyze the symbolical functions of these monsters in his narrative works. This study will focus on how the writer innovates aspects of the monsters that inhabit the societies represented in his novels and short stories as well as on how the writer uses different forms and types of monstrosity to present human problems, crisis and interrelations in society
