A. elaphroxylon is a small tree reaching a height up to 9{u2013}12 m. It is native to the tropical Africa and Madagascar. It is cultivated in Egypt, Java and South America. A. elaphroxylon occurs at the sides of rivers, swamps and lakes, often standing in water, when the swollen stem will act as a float. This species is one of the main sources of ambatch wood, a very light, pithy wood. Phytochemical study of the flowers, leaves and stem bark was performed including preliminary phytochemical screening, UPLC- Orbitrap HRMS profiling of the secondary metabolites and quantitative estimation of the total phenolic and flavonoid contents
