Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Nursing - Department of Nursing Services Administration Summary: Background: Decisional involvement recommends the decentralization of decision-making and the proximity of staff members who provide healthcare, in which workers have their participation ensured and are entitled to take part in discussions concerning the decision-making process. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between nursing staff's decisional involvement and their decision-making abilities. Design: A descriptive correlation design had been utilized to achieve the aim of this study. Setting: This study was conducted at a teaching hospital which affiliated to Cairo University. Sample: All baccalaureate nurses (115) at study setting were included in this study. Tools: Two tools were used to collect the study data; I. Nurses' involvement in decision making questionnaire and II. Nursing staff's decision making abilities questionnaire. Results. Study findings revealed that total mean score of nurses' decision-making abilities was (x=̄ 78.1), total mean score of nurses' decisional involvement was (x=̄.77.2) and there was positive correlation with no statistical significance between study sample's decision making abilities and their decision making involvement (r=0.08, p=0.38)ir abilities and skills regardless of their years of experiences
