Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Summary: This study was a pilot clinical trial testing the effect of a new device (Lingual ring splint or RiPARa) with specific exercises for the management of patients with ADDR. Ten male/ female patients were included in the study, age ranged from 20 to 32 years old, and all complained from ADDR as proved by clinical examination and MRI findings, and no Hx of previous treatment or surgery. Patients received the splint with specific instructions for periods of wearing and exercises to be performed during that time. No other treatment modality was given for the patients. Follow up periods was 1 week, 1, 2 and 3 months respectively. And parameters measured were pain tested by VAS and different ROM measures.Results showed significant improvement in Pain as well as ROM along the follow-up period
