Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communications Summary: This work study seeks to find solutions for problems of hearing aid systems, namely high power consumption and noise. It presents the possible approaches to the design of low-voltage operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) used to implement a programmable gain amplifier (PGA). To meet the required specifications, the application of Dynamic Threshold Metal Oxide Semi-conductor (DTMOS) technique for low-voltage OTA circuit is explored. DTMOS technique is helpful and efficient in the reduction of the threshold voltage. It also results in high gain, and low noise. The PGA dominates the noise and THD performance of the system. The significant reduction of the PGA{u2019}s noise and THD leads to great improvement in the performance of the hearing aid device
