Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Engineering - Department Of Biomedical Engineering Summary: The technical quality assurance has received a lot of attention to guarantee optimal medical image quality , while the quality of images interpretation now seems to be the weakest link in the process To overcome this problem , investigators have developed various computer - aided detection (CAD) and diagnosis (CADx) schemes computer aided diagnosis (CADx) methods employ computer algorithms to automatically detect and diagnose suspicious lesions on medical images the aim of this study is to investigate the use of wavelet analysis and statistical classifiers in CADx and whether changes in mammograms appearance could be well identified using previous techniques to judge the normality and abnormality of the imaged tissues
