This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a proposed Task- Based Learning Approach Strategy for developing the EFL speaking skills and motivation towards it for the fifth year primary pupils. The researcher adopted the quasi-experimental design. Participants of the study were (60) pupils equally divided into (30) pupils for the experimental group and (30) pupils for the control one. They were selected from Victory College Private School at EL Maadi Educational Directorate. The researcher designed speaking tasks to be used in teaching the experimental group, while the usual method was used in teaching the control one in the first term of the academic year (2018-2019). The instruments included: a checklist for speaking skills, an oral speaking test and a motivation scale were designed by the researcher and validated to be used as a pre and posttest for the two groups of pupils. Results proved that there were statistically significant differences at (a {u2264} 0.05) in the mean scores between the pre & post speaking test of the experimental group in each domain of speaking skills in favor of the post test. Results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences at (a {u2264} 0.05) in the mean scores of the pre and post motivation scale for the experimental group compared with the control group
