Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Pomology Summary: This study was carried out throughout two successive seasons 2015 and 2016 at Horticulture Research Station at El-Kanater El-Khayria, Qalyubeia Governorate on 20-year-old avocado trees "Fuerte" cultivar irrigated with through farrow (surface) irrigation system. In this sequence, the first experimental N1 as the control and trees were treated with four treatments of different addition times of nitrogen fertilization (N2, N3, N4, and N5) all only once and once with boron and zinc foliar spraying in concentrations (1, 2 and 3 g/L) beside combination between them. Nitrogen fertilization rated 1200 g /tree in 3 stages as (NH4No3) 33, 35%, N1 the farm's fertilization system with the recommended fertilization by the Ministry of Agriculture (1200 g /tree ammonium nitrates, 0.5 Kg /tree potassium sulfate and 1Kg/tree super phosphate on three doses in November / January / May), N2 240g / tree during (January) , 600 g/ tree during (May) and 360 g/tree during (August), N3 600g/tree during (January), 360 g/tree during (May) and 240 g/tree during (August), N4 600 g/tree during (January) and the rest quantity as 600 g/tree during (May) and N5 at 600 g/tree during (May) and 600 g/tree during (August) ). All nitrogen soil application time treatments also with foliar spraying of boron and zinc and combination between them in concentrations (1, 2 and 3 g/L/tree), Boron was used as sulaphate boron (17, 5%) and zinc was used as sulphate zinc (34%) in (October- January- March). The second experimental, girdling for the collected trees by cutting through and removing the bark in diameter 1 cm about 5cm above the abscission zone in one time only at 15th May and twice in (15th October and 15th May), and all were compared with using all previous nitrogen soil application with the same girdling treatments. The obtained results showed that time of nitrogen soil application, boron and zinc foliar spraying were significantly affected on improving all the tested parameters
