Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence - Department of Computer Science Summary: Over the past decade, the involvement of the end user in the development of his/her own customized smart applications has been increasing. Internet of Things (IoT) is undeniably growing considerably offering new benefits and opportunities for business. The expansion of IoT applications and services triggered new needs for users to assemble fully customized applications that match users{u2019} interests and preferences. Mashup concept has emerged as a mean to enable users to build their own applications and services without the need for prior knowledge of any programming language. Moreover, semantic technology helped understanding user needs by creating relations between the recorded data, and building an easy-to-use interface for the user. This thesis attempts to develop a new technique for an IoT Mashup solution in order to enhance the user experience of IoT Mashup tools. The proposed technique exploits the concept of semantic technology to compose services that match dynamically user needs. Our technique offers a module with a user-friendly interface that requires the minimum level of user input and interaction. Most of the work is executed in the backend by making comprehensions based on user input by getting relationships between the input items and suggest actions based on it. The target of this technique is to customize an application that does not require users to have much development experience or knowledge
