Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics Summary: This study was conducted to evaluate the biting force in class III modification I maxillary partially edentulous patients restored with removable partial denture constructed from two different injectable thermoplastic materials. The study included forty patients attending the outpatient clinic, Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry Cairo University. All patients had a partial loss of teeth in the maxillary arch as class III mod 1 Kennedy classification. And the opposing dentition had a complete set of teeth. Forty maxillary removable partial dentures were constructed from two different denture bases, one was constructed from bre.flex resin, and the other was constructed from polyetheretherketone denture bases. The I-load sensor was placed for twelve hours in the measuring environment, before operating the sensor it was allowed to warm up by connecting it to the power supply for at least 30 minutes before measurements. The force was applied in a direction vertical to the top surface of the sensor, a steel ball of 3/8" diameter was placed directly on the center of the dome shaped top for compression-only I-load sensor. The patient was seated in an upright position where the sensor was placed horizontally at the embrasure area of the second premolar and first molar. An average of ten readings was taken
