Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electrical Power and Machines
One of renewable energy applications is Photovoltaic (PV) water pumping in remote areas. In this thesis, a PV-pumping system using Quasi Z-Source Inverter (QZSI) is represented to replace the conventional two stages converters. A control technique is proposed to provide a lower voltage stress on the devices at the low power conditions. A model-based algorithm is used as a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique. This algorithm is optimized using genetic algorithm (GA). The proposed control is verified by the results of MATLAB simulations and experimental setup
