Anthraquinone, benzoquinone and its derivatives are biologically active compounds. Due to the biological importance of such class of compounds its seemed of interest to study the electrochemical behaviors for the following substituted quinones. All investigated compounds have been studied electrochemically using cyclic voltammetry (CV) in acetonitrile, 0.01 M tetra-n-butyl ammonium perchlorate as supporting electrolyte on platinum disk electrode, gold electrode and glassy carbon electrode. The scheme of electron-oxidation and reduction of the investigated anthrquinones hve been confirmed by CPE experiments followed by identification of the oxidation product using elemental analysis and spectroscopic measurements. To study the effect of solvent on the redox characteristics, all quinones derivatives have been investigated in different non-aqueous solvents such as 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE),1,2-dichloromethne(DCM), acetonitrile(AN), benzonitrile(BN) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) at platinum electrode, gold electrode and glassy carbon electrode using cyclic voltammetry. The difference in salvation energies of different species have been obtained
