  • السلوك الديناميكى للأساسات الخازوقية تحت تأثير الإهتزازات الرأسية والأفقية [Added title page title]

Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: Analysis of foundations under dynamic loads is a complicated process especially when pile foundations are used. Most codes and standards do not cover all aspects concerning the design of pile foundations under dynamic loads, especially, when it comes to the dynamic interaction between adjacent piles. The goal of the current research is to fill the gap existing in the Egyptian code of practice concerning the dynamic behavior of pile foundations under the effect of vertical and lateral vibrations. The study is performed using the Finite Element software PLAXIS 3D. Parametric study is performed to study the impact of different parameters on the displacements and the dynamic impedance parameters of single piles and pile groups. Furthermore, a comparison between the Finite Element model and the approximate approaches and guidelines proposed in local and international standards is presented. Finally, the Egyptian Code of Practice is evaluated and recommendations of simplified yet presentable approaches to calculate the dynamic impedance parameters of pile foundations are provided
