Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Metallurgical Engineering Summary: This thesis proposes a novel approach of reservoir engineering assisted historymatching. Efficient algorithms are introduced for the first time in reservoir engineering. Sobol sequence and Kriging are used as the experimental design and proxy modeling techniques respectively. Firefly, bee colony, and harmony search optimization algorithms are used as the optimization techniques. The performance of the proposed approach is compared with the most widely used approaches. The results indicate that the proposed approach shows significant superiority
