Degree: M.Sc. in Zoology (Molecular and Integrated Physiology) The Pyramids of Egypt are one of the world{u2019}s most amazing achievements. Models with the same dimensions of the great pyramid of Giza are believed to generate, transform and transmit energy when aligned on a true north south axis. Nephrectomy (Nx) is also a recognized risk factor for developing chronic kidney disease (CKD), so the present study aims to evaluate the role of the Egyptian pyramids housing on the enhancement of reno-regenerative ability after unilateral nephrectomy in rats. Sixty male Wistar rats were divided equally into three main groups (20 rats for each).Sham and nephrectomized rats (Nx) groups. Both groups maintained in their home cages for 1, 2, 7 and 14 days. The third group (Pyramid housed group) in which Nx rats housed within the wooden pyramid (6 hr/day) for 1, 2, 7 and 14 days. The present study showed that housing Nx rats inside the Egyptian pyramid model induced increase in the weight of the right kidney, urine volume, serum sodium and calcium levels and decreased serum potassium level. In addition pyramid environment decreased sodium, calcium level in urine and increased potassium excretion, thereby enhanced creatinine clearance. Moreover, housing of rats inside the Egyptian pyramid model ameliorated kidney function markers (proteinuria, urea and uric acid) in serum and urine, and increased levels of the renin, angiotensin and aldosterone hormones in serum
