Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Analytical Chemistry Summary: This thesis is concerned with analytical study of twoÜ-adrenoceptors blockers, either alone as Silodosin or inco-formulated mixture as Tamsulosin HCl withDeflazacort. In this work, various analytical methods were developedfor the stabilityindicating determination of the studied drug Silodosinusingspectroscopicand chromatographic techniques. Different experimental conditions were optimized for each proposed method. Forced degradation studies were performed on Silodosin for identification of possible degradation pathways of the drug and demonstration of the ability of the proposed methods to specifically determine the drug in the presence of its degradation products. For the determination of Tamsulosin HCl in mixture with Deflazacort, efforts were devoted towards establishment of more eco-friendly analytical methods, through use of greener solvents in chromatographic separationorminimizationof waste generation and sample pretreatment steps inanalysis by ion selective electrode. The validity ofthe developed methods wasperformed accordingto ICH guidelines.Comparative studies were also done between the proposed methods and the official or reported ones. The suggested methodswere successfully applied for the analysis of the studied drugs either in theiravailable pharmaceutical dosage forms, dissolution media , or in biological fluids
