Objectives: The aim of the study is to evaluate efficacy of (rFVIIa, Novo Seven) in managing cases of primary post-partum hemorrhage (PPH) unresponsive to conventional methods in reducing the need to undergo hysterectomy. Methods:This study included 50 women in child bearing period that underwent normal vaginal delivery or cesarean section complicated by PPH participants were divided into two groups, each composed of 25 patients. Patients were distributed in each group according to whether Recombinant factor VIIa (rFVIIa) was included in the management ofPost-partum hemorrhage. The first group was composed of 25 patients (study group) who took rFVIIa.The second group was composed of 25 patients (control group) who did not receive rFVIIa. Results:Our results showed that group I (rFVIIa group) had a lower incidence of Hysterectomy and mortality but with no statistical significant difference according to (P-value > 0.05) as compared to group II. As regards to hysterectomy it was 6 (24%) in the group Iand 9 (36%) in the group II.The Maternal mortality was 8 patients in both groups it was 3 in group I and 5 in group II. Conclusion: rFVIIa is a beneficial therapeutic option that could reduce blood loss and contribute to reduction of maternal morbidities and mortalities in post-partum hemorrhage and in our study hysterectomy and mortality rate in the group which received rFVIIa was lower than the group who didn{u2019}t receive rFVIIa with no significant statistical difference between both groups
