Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Summary: Nowadays, we have a large number of cancer types that are widely spread and affect human health. Most of patients have been in the advanced stage of cancer when definitely diagnosed, which makes them lose the opportunity for treatment by operation technique. Chemotherapy is the primary treatment for them. However, the use of chemotherapeutic drugs with several side effects and poor tolerance is limited in patients. This increases challenges for scientists to obtain novel effective anticancer agents, which have potential activity against cancer cells. Therefore, the development of novel, efficient, and less toxic anticancer agents remains a serious and challenging goal of medicinal scientists worldwide
