Background: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a major problem in Egypt. It is associated with benign and malignant hematological abnormalities. Direct acting antivirals (DAA's) are the main lines of treatment of HCV in Egypt. This treatment aims to achieve sustained virological response (SVR). The current study shows the effect of DAA's on HCV patients with benign hematological abnormalities and the relation of hematological abnormalities to achieving SVR. Methods: Data were available for 178,939 enrolled patients, treatment naïve, eligible for treatment according to the National Committee for Control of Viral Hepatitis (NCCVH) in Egypt; these patients were compliant to treatment by Sofosbuvir (SOF) and Daclatasvir (DCV),and had a known treatment outcome
