Clinical practice guidelines are one method to enhance the quality of care. Guidelines are proposed to produce the best health outcomes for patients, to minimize injury, and to decrease the variations in clinical care. The aim of the current study is to examine the impact of implementing a designed nursing care guideline on patients{u2019} outcomes and nursing empowerment in a pediatric cancer hospital. Design: A Methodological, quasiexperimental design nonequivalent posttest-only control group was utilized at the two Hematology Units at Children Cancer Hospital Egypt. A total of 74 nurses and 132 children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in the induction phase where participated in the study and divided into intervention group implemented the nursing care guideline and control group implemented the routine hospital care. The data collection instruments were Pre/Post knowledge questionnaire sheet, Nursing Work Empowerment Scales and "patient outcomes audit chart". Results: A significant positive correlation between implementing the NCG and patient outcome adverse effect. The study also revealed that the total mean scores of total empowerment levels in the intervention group were higher than the control group and no significant statistical differences between the two groups
