  • تقنية جديدة لتقدير كثافة الثدى باستخدام الصور العادية للموجات الفوق صوتية [Added title page title]
Subject(s): Online resources: Available additional physical forms:
  • Issued also as CD
Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Systems and Biomedical Engineering Summary: Breast cancer is the leading cancer type in women worldwide. Breast density is considered as an independent risk factor for developing breast cancer. Mammography and ultrasound imaging are the most common non-invasive imaging tools to detect breast tumors. However, mammography may show lower sensitivity to detect breast cancer in dense breasts. Thus, other complementary imaging tools can be used to investigate dense breasts more accurate. Ultrasound shows higher sensitivity to detect tumors than mammography in dense breast. Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems have been proposed to assess breast density using mammography imaging, while very few teams have investigated the use of US imaging. This work introduces a novel method to assess breast density using conventional B-modes ultrasound imaging
