Background: The first{uFB17}episode psychosis (FEP) is a particularly high{u2010}risk period for aggression and violence within the course of the illness. Systematic searches found that about a third of patients in the first episode of psychosis exhibited some violent behavior before initial treatment and approximately 1 in 6 committed an act of more serious violence involving the assault of another person. Aim:To assess violence and aggressive behavior, the qualitative and quantitative difference of violence and aggressive behavior and the association between violence and aggressive behavior and severity of psychotic symptoms among patients diagnosed with first episode psychosis and patients diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia. Method: This study is a case control cross sectional study, 32 patients with FEP, 32 patients with chronic schizophrenia and 32 matched controls were measured violence and aggression by using Violence scale in youth (khareba, 2015) and Aggressive behavior and hostility scale for adolescent and youth (Baza , 2013 ) The patients' groups were assessed by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale for Schizophrenia (PANSS). Result:There was a significant statistical difference between FEP and Schizophrenia regarding to the healthy controls group in the mean scores of violence and aggression scales, For Correlation, there was a significant positive correlation between DUP, PANSS-P, PANSS-N and PANSS-T and between violence and aggression scores in FEP
