1-Ecological studies: Population abundance of mites infesting date palm trees Phoenix dactylifera L in different varieties in (Belbies, Sharqia, ElKassasin, Ismailia and Ibshway, Faiyum) were studied from April 2016 to March 2017.Species of mites associated with date palm and weeds are classified to: Phytophagous, Predaceous and Miscellaneous mites. The identification and abundanc of mites were recorded. The collected mites from leaves, weeds and soil were 28 species belonging to 23 genera, representing 16 families under three suborders, Actinedida, Gamasida and Acaridida. The polyphagous mites were numerically dominant of 9 species belonging to 3 families. Whereas 12 species are predaceous mites belonging to 10 families. More ever the miscellaneous 5 species belonging to 4 families. 2-Biological studies a- Oligonychus afrasiaticus: The incubation period was recorded 3.68 days at 30 {u00B0}C and the life cycle duration was 10.42 days for female and 8.82 days for male when fed on Acalypha leaves. Life cycle was 8.24 days at the same diet. The female was deposited 18.68 eggs (daily rate 2.07). The sex ratio (65%) The life span took 22.78 days for female and 19.77 for male. At this temperature, the highest values of net reproduction rate (Ro) was obtained 12.35 female/female., the high intrinsic of natural increase (rm =0.218), finite rate of increase (n= 1.24) and the Doubling time (Dt) recorded 3.18 days. The Growth Regulation Rate was recorded 12.35. b- Raoiella indica Hirst Mortality at the larval and protonymphal stages were 20% and 5% respectively. The incubation period averages 6.13 days at 26{u02DA}C. The duration of female life cycle was 21.70 days, and 18.88 for male when reared on date palm leaves. 3-Control studies: At laboratory: Six of commercial essential oils used in laboratory against to Phyllotetranychus aegypticus (Tenuipalpidae) and Oligonychus afrasiaticus (Tetranychidae)
