In this study the performance of the electrocoagulation in the treatment of synthetic wastewater containing textile dyeing such as methyl orange and methylene blue was studied. By using iron electrodes at different operating conditions such as initial dye concentration (10,30 and 50 mg/L), applied voltage (10,15 and 20 V) and electrolysis time (10,20 and 30 min.) at room temperature and pH=7. The results showed that using electrocoagulation has proven to be a promising method in the color removal from textile dyeing wastewater. For M.O dye and M.B dye, the maximum color removal efficiency was 96.77% and 84.596 % at applied voltage 15 and 20 Vrespectively, time = 30 minutes and initial dye concentration= 50mg/L. At this condition the corresponding electrical energy consumption was 23.7 and 55.2 kWh/m3 for M.O and M.Brespectively. Most of the color removal occurred in the first 20 min. for both dyes. The color removal efficiency was in the range of 87.5-91% and 70 {u2013} 71% for M.O and M.B respectively at the first 20 min
