Sansevieria trifasciata Prain. and Sansevieria suffruticosa N.E.Br. are ornamental plants in Asparagaceae family. The aim of this study was to investigate the two Sansevieria species from the phytochemical and biological points of view. DNA fingerprinting was done for identification of the two plants. Phytochemical study, including phytochemical screening, investigation of lipoidal, phenolic, saponin and polysaccharide content, was done on the two species. Metabolomics analysis by LC/MS was performed using positive and negative modes resulting in identification of sixty one compounds.Twenty compounds were isolated from the aerial parts of the two Sansevieria species. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chromatographic, chemical and spectroscopic properties.Biological studies were performed on the alcoholic extracts of the two species. Invitro antioxidant, antimicrobial, cytotoxic and insecticidal activities were estimated for the two species. S. trifasciata Prain. showed promising antimicrobial results. Also, anti-arthritic activity was measured invivo showing promising results regarding S. suffruticosa N.E.Br. Molecular docking studies were done for further investigation of possible targets involved in the biological action of the two species
