Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Physics Summary: Analytical formulae are used to calculate the phase variation and the slope parameter of the nucleon{u100000}nucleon (NN) scattering amplitude in terms of momentum transfer q2. An empirical series is presented to calculate the NN total cross section. The proton{u100000}nucleus and nucleus{u100000}nucleus elastic scattering differential cross{u100000}sections for different reactions at different bombarding energies less than 200 MeV/N have been calculated. Elastic differential cross sections of proton scattering on five target nuclei ¹²C, ¹⁶O, ²⁴Mg, ²⁷Al and ²⁸Si are analyzed. For nucleus {u2013} nucleus elastic scattering three nuclei , ⁶Li and ⁷Li, are concerned as projectiles. The nucleus is interacted with five nuclei ¹²C, ¹⁶O, ²⁸Si, ⁵⁸Ni, and ¹¹⁶Sn. While ⁶`⁷Li nuclei are scattered with two nuclei ¹²C and ²⁸Si. In addition, ¹²C +¹² C elastic scattering is analyzed at energies 1.2 and 1.62 GeV. The phase variation and the inmedium effect are considered in these calculations using the Glauber model. The calculated cross sections are in a reasonable agreement with the experimental data.
