Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Organic Chemistry Summary: Reaction of cyclohexan-1,3-dione (1) with aryldhydes gave the bezylidene derivatives which underwent a series of hetercyclization reactions to give fused thiophene , pyrazole and isoxazole derivatives . while the reaction of cyclohexan-1,3-dione with triethoxymethane give ethoxymethylene derivative which is used for the synthesis of derivatives of pyrazole, isoxazole , 6,7- dihydrobenzo[b]thiophene , thieno[2',3':5,6]benzo[1,2-e][1,3]oxazine , 5-hydrazono-1-phenyl-3,5,6,7- tetrahydroquinazoline , 2H-chromen-5-one derivatives . the synthesized compunds were evaluated against kinds of cancer cell lines together tyrosine Kinase and Pim-1 kinase inhibitions . Most of the synthesized compounds were assessed the inhibitory activities against A549 (non- small cell lung cancer ) , H460 (human lung cancer ) , HT-29 (human colon cancer ) and MKN-45 (human gastric cancer ) cancer cell lines together with foretinib as the positive control by a MTT assay .
