Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Physical Therapy for Surgery Summary: Purpose: The current study was conducted to examine the effect of low level laser therapy on management of hand foot syndrome associated with chemo therapy. Subjects and Methods: thirty patients who had hand foot syndrome, their ages ranged from 35 to 60 years. The participants were selected from oncology teaching hospital in Ismailia and distributed into two equal groups in number: group A (study group) received (Low Level Laser therapy) in addition to their medical treatment (topical emollients) and group B ( control group) received only their medical treatment (topical emollients). All patients were evaluated before the treatment and after 4 weeks of (Low Level Laser therapy), their severity of syndrome was measured by using Visual Analog Scale and Hand Foot Syndrome -14 questionnaire .Results: There were significant decrease in severity of quality of life impairment and pain from hand foot syndrome in (Low Level Laser therapy) group when compared with the control group. Conclusion : Low Level Laser therapy can be considered as an effective method in improvement of quality of life and decreasing of pain from hand foot syndrome
